Assistant Principal

Are you TRUE BLUE? Our Yazoo County Middle School students, faculty, and staff sure are! My name is Tracey Watts, and I am the Assistant Principal of YCMS, where Panther Pride is at the heart of everything we do. I am proud to be a part of the Yazoo County School District!

I grew up in North Mississippi in the small town of Plantersville. I attended Tupelo High School before earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree at Mississippi State. Upon graduation, I moved to Madison County, which has been home to me for all of my adult life.

My teaching career began at the Madison County Business & Commerce Center in 1998 where I was the DECA advisor and instructor for the Marketing & Fashion Merchandising program. From 2000-2004, I served as the Technology Coordinator for St. Joseph Catholic School. In 2005, I took a teaching and coaching position at Ridgeland High School. After several years of teaching, I decided to pursue an advanced degree in Educational Leadership. In 2007, I received a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Mississippi College.

Over the years, I have taught various courses in social studies, mathematics, and across the broad spectrum of business and computer technology. Additionally, I have coached cheerleading, tennis, golf, and swimming while also serving as a Technology Student Association advisor and Student Government Association sponsor. My administrative experience includes roles as both an assistant principal and an assistant athletic director in the Madison County School District.

I am looking forward to a great year with the students and families of Yazoo County Middle School. Go Panthers!
